ASHHURST
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, May 16. At tlie monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute it was agreed that an exhibit of preserve be entered in the Manuwatu Winter Show, two delegates, Misses A. Dobson and B. Young were appointed to attend arts and craft lessons. Mrs D. Scott, of Aokautene, gave a very interesting talk on drama work to members of the. drama circle. Mrs Currie repotted on the group meeting and Mrs Anion, delegate to the council meeting recently held at Foxlon, presented a very fufl and interesting report. A “bring and buy” stall held for the purpose of raising funds for parcels fo; the soldiers overseas was well patronised Competitions resulted : Plate of scones, Mrs Flowers 1, Mrs Smith 2, Mrs Searle 3; junior class, article made from a flour bag. Miss Dobson 1, Miss Young 2, Miss Mclsaac 3; flower from the garden, Mrs Tremewan 1, Mrs Muldroek 2. Mcedames Scott and Pallieon, who judged the work, were accorded thanks. The hostesses at the next meeting will be Mesdames Murphy, Mclaac, Sumner, and Miss Mclaac.
