BRITAIN AND SPAIN

CANARD REFUTED. (United Press Association—'By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.; (British Official Wireless.). Received May 15, 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, .May 14. . It has come to the notice of the British Government that malicious re-

ports arc circulating to the effect that the Allies are preparing to take, hostile action'against Spanish possessions. It should scarcely be necessary to emphasise the fact that these reports aio mendacious and entirely without foundation. As has alreadj’ been stated'in the House of Commons, the British Government intends to respect the strict neu- - trality of Spain so long as it is respected by others.
