HOCKEY, The following are the fixture® for men’s hockey on Saturday:—Kia Ora v. Marton, at Marton; Wanderers v.' Huia, at Feilding, 2.30 p.m.; Swifts, a bye. At a meeting of the executive of the Hockey Association, on Tuesday, it was resolved that a loudspeaker service be made available for the forthcoming tournament and other matters in connection with it were discussed. On Saturday the Feilding Harriers Club will conduct a pack run over the hills, beginning at 2 o’clock. Rugby Football. The Mayor (Mr T. L. Seddon) advises that the total receipts .in the Kowhai Park Centennial Fund to date arc £527 6s. This includes the Borough Council grants and the proceeds of the Centennial celebrations, but does not include the cost of the purchase of additional land. Recent donations are acknowledged from Mr P.’G. Guy, ,T. Cobbe and Co.. Mr and Mrs S, M. Hobbs and Mr J. Knight. Patriotic Funds.
In connection with the sale ■ of horses at the Feilding stock sale last week, the Mayor (Mr T. L. Seddon) states that the Patriotic Society benefited to tbe extent of £3B 15s.
