LITTLE THEATRE.
AMUSING COAIEDY READ. There was an excellent attendance at the Little Theatre, on Tuesday, when the first reading of the 1940 season was presented under the direction of Alisa D. Floyd. A well-chosen comedy was attractively staged in a modern setting carried out in cream, green and ru6t, and some beautiful frocks were worn by the women in the cast. Those taking part were: —Misses M. Arlidge. AI. AVischnewsky, I. Lovelock, Alesdames M. H. AVilson. N. J. Greenwood, T. B. Amies, Alessrs C. D. Young. R. Allison, E. D. Bennett and S. F. Prosser. In the unavoidable absence of the president (Air H. G. Bagnall) Air J. P. AleDavitt welcomed those present, especially Mrs L. AI. Bristow, founder of the society and a life member, who is paying a. short visit to the city. The winners of the competitions 'were announced and members were reminded of the forthcoming major production and the make-uo classes.
