HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The Palmerston North Horticultural Society held its monthly meeting on Monday night, wlirin Mr A. W. Sweetintm gave a very, interesting talk on tho growing of flowers such as violets, pansies, irises, hydrangeas, paeonies, etc., and numerous border plants. He also dealt with the various diseases of plants and the curbs for them. At the conclusion of the lecture Air Sweetman answered many questions. On tho motion of Air J. H.
