VALEDICTORY.
Over one hundred friends gathered at tho P.D.C. recently to bid farewell to Sergeant-Pilot Halley, son of Mr and Mrs G. Halley, Featherston Street, ■who is shortly going overseas. A most enjoyable time was spent in dancing to excellent music played by friends of the guest of honour. Much appreciated musical items were rendered by Mr Allan Sundborn and trio, Mr L. Mattar, and the Straight Eight. During an interval a dainty supper was served, after which air Phillip called upon Sergeant-Pilot Halley to accept a useful “gift. with best wishes for the future and a safe return, to which he suitably replied. A bright evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
