CITY SILVER BAND.
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Palmerston North City Silver Band was held on Tuesday, Mr B. J. Jacobs presiding. Mr Jacobs said the band hacl a successful year, but it would have a strenuous period ahead and he thought that it would be called upon to do many things in patriotic work. He appealed to the younger boys in the band to stay with it. In conclusion, Mr Jacobs wished the band success.
The report of the chairman of the committee (Mr E. W. Low) was adopted.
The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr A. E. Manslord; president Mr Jacobs; vice-presidents, 29 were elected: lion, auditor, Mr H. W. Mullanev : lion, solicitor, Mr F. G. Opie; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Abraham; executive, Messrs W. Williamson, W Cosgrove, E. Rickerby, K. Stewart, R. Batchelar, McAlinden, F. Le Cheminant, Wildbore, E. W. Low and Beattie; ladies’ committee, Mesdames Dear. Price. Prouse, O’Hara, Low. Stewart. Harris, Abraham. Dolby and Misses Abraham and Dolby.
