McCaskill (Miss Gwen Gibbs), of Broadway, left to-day on a visit to" Napier., Miss ltuth Allan, late, of the public library staff, has joined the .nursing staff of the Auckland Hospital. Nurse E. Harknott, of Palmerston North, has received an appointment as Plunket- nurse for the AVaipawa. district and will take up her duties this week. -

Mis,? M. Jones,' secretary of the Palmerston North Y.AY.C.A., has returned from a short- visit to Auckland, where she farewelled Miss Henson, who is returning to Australia after being in'charge of the Auckland Y.AV.C.A. hostel. Miss Henson’s place has been taken by Miss Rees, who comes from Wales.

Loyalty to the aims and objects of the Plunket Society as laid down by the founder, Sir Truby King, was reaffirmed' by a representative gathering of Plunket workers and friends in -Wellington yesterday, Founder’s Day. Tributes were paid to Sir Truby and Lady King by Mrs P. Fraser, wife of the Prime Minister : Mrs H. Jowett, president of the Wellington branch; Mr P. E. Pattrick, a member of the advisory board of the' society; and Mrs Charles Gray, president of the Coastal Towns Branch of the soeieti’.
