PERSONAL.

Regret will be felt by his friends -in Palmerston North -at the'death of Mr Edward Shepherd Dixon, who passed away at his home in Thompson Street, 44 7 eliington, on Saturday. For a number of years Mi Dixon resided in Palmerston North, being engaged m the cordial business, and after ,disposing of his interests went to live in 4\’cllington Mr Dixon was a member of the Palmerston North Bowling Club during his lengthy residence in this city, and his interest in the game was shown bv his gift of the Dixon Cup for competition among clubs within the Manawatu Centre, and even further afield when it wax first competed for. He was also a member of the club’s rink which won the Dominion tournament at Auckland in 1915, the only survivor of which is Mr J. A. Nash. 3_n later years Mr Dixon was connected with business pursuits in Wellington. He leaves a daughter, Miss Una Dixon, to mourn liis passing.
