“LOVERS’ LEAP.”

SUCCESS REPEATED. There was a gratifyingly large audience at the second performance of the Alanawatu Repertory Society’s production, “LovOrs’ Leap,” in the Empire Hall, last evening. The actors had gained in confidence and gave an even lietter performance than on the opening night—an achievement of merit considering the high standard already set.’. The play is fraught with many diffi culties for amateurs, for not only is it a modern comedy of the sophisticated type which demands high speed and suave handling, hut the burden of the work rests on four of the five players—an unusually heavy task in a three-act plav.. However, a cast of experienced players, tinkled bv the sure hands of a capable producer, succeeded in presenting a really delightful performance. Those who value the art which the Repertory Society and kindred organisations in Palmerston North are endeavouring to cultivate are showing thdir appreciation by their patronage of this play, which aspires to professional standard.- The producer is Air F. Cousins and tho'-e taking part Aliss Alavis Alortland. Aliss Bahette Rodgers, Dr. Alvin de Berry. Air Graham Driver and Air Ewen Davidson. •The final presentation will be given this evening.
