MOTHERS’ DAY SERVICE.

A special Mothers’ Day service was held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, last evening. Among those present were the Deputy-Mayor fCr G. Tremaine) and members of the Palmerston North City Council, and directors and members of the Young Men’s Christian Association. Special, hymns appropriate to the day were sung, and special prayers offered. The preacher was Rev. J. Hubbard, who paid a tribute to motherhood, declaring that no crown was too resplendent to bestow upon motherhood at its best. Ho warned mothers against neglecting children and emphasised the supreme value of children as the makers of to-morrow.
