TWO FEILDING TEAMS.
- A TEST OF FITNESS. A good win was registered by Feilding m their engagement with Feikliiig Old Bovs seniors at Johnston Park, the latter fifteen failing to • score throughout the game. The teams were : Feilding.—Pollard, Goffe, McGrath, Lewis, Rush, Dermer, Thompson, Grey, Anderson, Wilson, Newman, Nicholson, Scott, Pve, Garlick. Feilding Old Boys.—Gloyn, Dasnwood, Bramwell, McLeod, Waugh, Harford, Dewe, Wells, Rutherford, Bainbridge, Oliver, Waldegrave, L. Nicholson, Craine, Eade. Feilding Old Boys, facing the sun, were eager to penetrate early, but the odds were against them and unfinished movements spoilt their chances of success. As the game settled down Feilding assumed the role of aggressors and throughout the spell attacked with vigour, success coming when Wilson penetrated near the goal-posts. The kick was not taken on account of a breach in placing the ball. Feilding scored again a moment later when Dernier initiated a movement which led to Rush getting over. Thompson’s kick failed. In the second spell Feilding Old Boys made an effort to push back their opponents, but the defenders handled particularly well and held their ground and towards the end of the game had Feilding Old Boys back on the defence From a scrum near Feilding Old Boys’ twenty-five line Dermer gathered the ball and drop-kicked a. goal. Feilding Old Boys attacked again and McGrath got away, but lost possession right on tlie goal-line. and when the final whistle sounded Feilding Old Boys had lost territory once again, the final score being: Feilding 10, Feilding Old Boys 0. Mr A. Neville was the referee.
