CHARGE OF MURDER.
REMAND GRANTED. Per Press Association. ' AUCKLAND, May 10. A few onlookers were m the Police Court this morning when Douglas Herbert Cartnian, aged 22, a trucker, who was arrested in Wailii on May 1, was charged before Mr C. R. Orr Walker that on April 2._ at Waikino, he did murder Alice Elizabeth Hamilton. This was accused’s first appearance in Auckland. The police obtained a remand by consent to May 30. Mr F. McCarthy apneared for Cartman.
