SLUGGISH RIVER BOARD.

At a meeting of the Sluggish River Drainage Board yesterday Mr 1. JFoster presided. Others present w ere Messrs M. J. Ryan, E. E. Print, A N. Morcom and W. H. Gimblett. In connection with a letter received from Mrs M. E. Smith regarding the condition of a drain on her property, Messrs' Foster and Print were appointed to inspect the weak portion in the drain and also a floodgate referred to in the letter. The overseer (Air. W. Locke) reported that work was being proceeded with on No. 1 portion of the main drain. Gorso and lupins required cutting on the hanks of drains in the Bamesse district.
