MARKET REPORT.
The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, reporting ou their usual weekly sale, state: A medium yarding of pigs came forward, a total clearance being made at prices firm on lustweek’s rates. Poultry prices are improving every week particularly for good table birds and laving hens. Young ducks were also in demand, realising up fo 10s per pair. The usual supply of fruit and vegetables came forward, carrots being bard to dispose of. but there was a good demand for all green vegetables.— We quote as follows; —Pigs: Best weanors, 14s to 16s; slips, 17s to 21s; stores, 22s 6d to 30s; porkers, 38s to 41s; 44s to 47s 6d. Poultry: Best W.L. hens, 5s to 6s per pair; heavy hens, 7s 6d to 8s per pair: light liens. 3s to 4s; forward pullets, 7s 6d to 8s 6d each; medium, 5s to 6s each:' young ducks. 9s 6d to 10s per pair; old ducks, 5s to 6s per pair; heavy cockerels, 8s to 9s per pair; medium 6s to 7s per pair, roosters, 5s to 7s per pair. Produce: Tomatoes, 2s to 6s per case; cauliflowers, best, lls to 14s per sack; others, 5» to 10s per sack; cabbage, Savoy, bs to 7s bd; Drumhead. 5s to 7s 6d; carrots, Is to 2s per sugar bag; parsnips, 2s to 3s; spinach, 3s to 5s per case; lettuce, 4s to 9s per ease; peas, 3d to sjd per lb. ; pumpkins, 2s to ss: marrows. 2s to 3s; celery, 5s to 3s per case; beetroot, 3s tr> 4> 6d; potatoes. 7s to 8s per cwt.; onions. 10s to 12s per bag.
