A large increase in the week-end parties was noticed. The standard of ski-ing has shown considerable improvement, larger numbers than ever before using longer runs and steeper slopes, and a sports meeting held in August showed a fine standard of performance. Unfortunately, the club championships scheduled for early September were not held owing to poor attendance on the first date and adverse weather conditions on the second. The - men’s championship trophy and the men’s slalom trophy, which were to be competed for at this meeting. have been awarded according to points gained bv Itangiwah'a members who ran in the New Zealand championships at Ruapehu in August. 1939. The financial membership for 1939 was 60. Financially the club had a successful year. At th“ start of the season it possessed a bank overdraft of £l2 IGs 9d, and now lies a credit balance of £1 Is lOd with no outstanding accounts.
