LIPSTICK.
The art of applying lipstick is not difficult to acquire; but is a very necessary art if one is to avoid the crudity so often encountered. The objective, in all cases, is to add just that touch of extra colour and the contour that will enhance the appearance. Before applying, see that lips are thoroughly dry, to give the lipstick a proper chance to adhere. The upper lip should be treated first, following the contour of the lip. Fill in by blending with the tip of the middle finger. ' The contour need not be slavishly followed. If lips are over-generous in size, fade away the lipstick at the sides. If they are so small as to give a. tight-lipped appearance, raise the line of lipstick slightly at centre where a bow should be in evidence. Trace the contour of the top lip on to the lower lip by pressing the lips together. This will ensure a symmetrical appearance. Fill in and blend the lower lip in the same way as the upper lip. t See that the colouring at the edges is not too pronouncedand do not moisten the lips until the application is complete.
