Mrs R. A. Port is a Palmerston North visitor to Auckland.
Mrs R. D. Kniglit, of Longburn, is visiting Wellington. Mrs W. Hunter Will, of Broadway, returned home to-day from Wellington, where she went to meet her daugnter, Miss Patricia Will, who is spending the Otago University vacation here. Sympathy was accorded Mrs W. G. Claphum, president of the KiwiteaKimbolton branch of the W.D.F.U., in the sudden death of her father, at yesterday's meeting of the Palmerston North branch.
Mrs Mary Slatter, of Hataitai, Wellington, celebrated her 93rd birthday yesterday. Mrs Slatter was born in Nelson on May 9, 1847., Her parents arrived by the Fifeshire ! on February 1, 1842. She is still quite active, and does the cooking anti sewing for her household. She takes a keen interest in all current events and can relate many reminiscences of early pioneering days. She has four daughters living, seven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
