HIGH MUSICAL STANDARD. The Manawatu Competitions Society’s seventeenth annilal festival was continued to-day, when much’ interest-., in the programme was again evident. Mr C. H. Davies, of Christchurch, who is judging the vocal and instrumental sections, is enthusiastic about the musical standard and musicians of New Zealand. He considers that therb arc quite a number of musicians scattered throughout the country who can compare favourably with , those from England. Palmerston North had shown as high, a standard as anywhere, he told a “Manawatu Standard”, representative.
