RECREATION GROUND DRAINAGE.
As tlie outcome of a discussion at yesterday’s meeting of the Woodvillo Hockey Club, all sports bodies in Woodville, 'and the Borough. Council, are to bo written to in connection, with a proposal to introduce a mole drainage system at the Recreation Ground. It was pointed out in the course of the discussion that proper drainage facilities as a means of improving the playing area would be advantageous to all outdoor sports j bodies in the district. Mr S. Worboys presided. The correspondence included a copy of the Manawatu Hockey Association’s annual balance-sheet. The club’s president (Mr W. A. Lyon) is to be written to and thanked for his donation to the funds. Mr S. "Wilson was elected to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the resignation of Mr V. Walker. Club practices formed the subject of a discussion, as the result of which it was decided to hold regular week-end practices. Messrs R. Christensen, W. Wolfbauer, J. Hardy, M. Wickes and J. Seed were appointed a ground committee. Teams to take part in the .Manawatu Association’s competitions on'' Saturday were announced as follow: —Senior A, D. Harris, D. Vogt, P. Burlace, W. Wolfbauer, R. Leach, S. "Worboys, S. Orme, E. Beale, K. Strand, R. Vowell, R. Christensen; senior B, J. Seed, C. Berkahn, D. Ansin, B. Orme, L. Watkins, H. McNeil. S." Wilson, J. Hardy, jM. Wickes, C. Oliver, R. Forbes; reIserves, G. Hardy, K. Russell.
