The Prime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser) has returned to Wellington from Auckland.
After conducting an appeal throughout India on behalf of St. Dunstan’s Hostel for Blinded Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen, Sir Clutha Mackenzie has returned to Auckland. He lias been absent about 10 months.
Mr L. A. Robb, Mr E. V. Raymont, Mr J. J. Black and Mr A. E. Jackson, officials of the Beturned Sailors’ and Soldiers’ Imperial League of Australia, who represented the league at the Centennial Anzae Day celebrations in Wellington, have leit for Australia.
The death has occurred in Wellington of Mr Ernest Edward Cillon, aged 72, who retired some years ago from the railway service of which he was chief mechanical engineer. Mr Gillon, who was the eldest son of the late Mr E. T. Gillon, editor of the Evening Post, is survived by his wife and two sons.—Press Association.
