HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. FEILDING’S DECISION. After consideration had been given to the Manawatu Hockey Association’s proposal for the amalgamation of the Manawatu and Fteilding Associations for the duration of the war, the Feikling Hockey Association at a meeeting on Tuesday, decided that the men’s association carry on independently of Manawatu.- Mr A. Hendry presided and the matter was fully discussed. “As this association is catering adequately for hockey in this district we cannot grant tlio Ohakea Air Force team or any other team permission to play out of . its allotted district, as laid down by the parent body,” was the text of a resolution passed to settle trie question of teams making application to play outside the Feilding district s territory. . Saturday’s fixtures are as follow.— Wanderers v. Kia Ora, at Marton, 2.30 p.m., Huia v. Mal'ton, at I'eliding, 2.30 p.m. . , A donation from a supporter in tne form of a cup probably for allocation to the most scientific player during tne season, was accepted with thanks. The programme for the annual tournament was drawn up. It provides for each team being practically assured of three games. • Arrangements for tne annual ball were put in train and an orchestra has been engaged.' Further details will be arranged at the next meeting of the executive.
