ACCIDENT CLAIM.
FULL DAMAGES AWARDED. The full amount of damages claimed was awarded by the jury at the conclusion of the case in the Supreme Court, yesterday, in which Mr 6 M. W. Way, widow, of Levin, sought £3OOO general and £25 4« 6d special damages from Brian Leslie Everton, stockdealer, of Levin, and Thomas Gerard Alexander Marchant, lorry driver, also of Levin. The claim was the outcome of a. collision between a motor lorry, owned by Everton and driven by Marchant, and a motor-car, in which plaintiff’s husband, Bertie Rupert Way, a passenger, was killed. Messrs B. R. Way, Ltd., garage proprietors, were named as a third party, deceased being the principal shareholder in the company. Tho jury found that all the negligence was on the side of defendants. The Chief Justice (Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers) presided. Mr O. C. Mazengarb (Wellington) and Mr N: M. Thompson (Levin) appeared as counsel for Mrs Way, Mr G. Crosslcy (Palmerston North) for defendants, and Mr G. G. Watson. (Wellington) for B. R. Way, Ltd.
