FACTORY MANAGERS’ GATHERING. Three lectures were given at the 1 dairy factory managers’ “week” at the Dairy Research Institute, Massey Col- | lege,’ yesterday, one having application to all sections of the gathering and the others dealing with subjects for tho managers of butter factories and for those connected with cheese i factories. Dr. F. H. McDowall spoke on the composition, preparation, and uses of dairy cleansers. Dr. H. It. Whitehead outlined the experiments and the progress. made in the study of cheese starters at the institute, and Dr. T. ■' R. Vernon spoke to the butter fac- , tory managers on the control of . moulds. 1 'Yesterday afternoon Mr P. O. Veale, ] of Hawcra, gave an address on the ; volume, composition, and disposal of 1 dairy factory drainage. c
