OTAGO CLUB.
At tlie annual meeting of the Otago Club, held on Monday, Mi- A. J. Graham presided. A welcome was extended to Mrs C. C. Itobertson, of Dunedin, who is at present spending a holiday in Palmerston North, and to Mr H. H. Duck, who has recently taken up his residence here. Tlie election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr Ivan Wilson ; president, Mr A. J. Graham; vice-presidents, Messrs J. S. Winton, D. Dredge and C. Page; secretary and treasurer, Milt. J. Wright; committee, Mesdames A G. Bennisbn, B. F. Barlow, T. Tnglis, M. Clarke, A. E. Allen. F. Wilkinson, and L. Peters, Messrs W. Kelly, A. E. Allen, T. Inglis. B. McCulloch, H. McKay, and H. H. Duck; lion, auditor. Mr T. Inglis. It was decided to send a letter to Mr J. S. Winton expressing the club’s sympathy in his illness and wishing him well.
]n referring to the activities of the club during the past year, Mr Graham said that the socials did not receive the support they should have been given and consequently were run at a financial loss. It would be advisable for the club to go into recess for a year owing to its not receiving the necessary support. A motion that the club should, go into recess for a year, but that it should hold a birthday social at the end of the year, was carried. The report on the past year’s activities reviewed the social functions held and stated that the balance-sheet revealed a credit balance though the actual working showed a loss.
