(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, May 8. The home of Mr and Mrs W. E. Pearce, “Uangitota.” was the scene of a large party recently held in honour of Mr Jack Frecklington, who left this week to join the New Zealand Air Force. The time was spent in flag five hundred and dancing to music supplied by Misses M. and F. Anderson, Mr G. Drew and Mr C. L. Grace. Miss Erie Berkahn, of Rongotea, sang, a bracket of songs. Mrs Pearce received the guests wearing a frock of midnight blue chiffon, while Miss Pearce wore a floral frock of pompadour satin. Bowls of chrysanthemums and autumn leaves were artistically arranged in the hall and the drawing-room. Mr Pearce said Mr FreeklingHon’s friends had gathered to wish him well in the Air Force. He was to be congratulated on taking the stop. Mr Pearce wished him the best of luck, and handed him a suitable gift as a token of goodwill from his many friends.
