DEATH OF CYCLIST
COMPANION GRAVELY HURT COLLISION IN CITY. As the result of a collision between two youths who were cycling in Church Street East shortly after t p.in.f last evening, and a motor-car, one died of his injuries and the other is seriously ill. They were: DIED OF INJURIES. HERBERT AVILLIAM EAIRCLOUGH, aged 184 years, of 524 Albert Street, Palmerston North, extensive injuries to the head and neck and internal injuries. He died at 8.20 a.mi to-day. INJURED. FRANCIS HOLLOWAY, aged 17 years, of 612 Church Street, Palmerston North; extensive injuries to the head, condition serious. The motor car w ; as was driven by Mr Keith Annesley Goldingham, of Palmerston North, and was proceeding eastward toward Fitzroy .Street. Tiie two youths appeared suddenly before the lights at. a point mid-way between Ruahine Street’ and .Fitzroy Street, and before the ear could be stopped the collision took place. The injured youths were taken to the Public Hospital by the Free Ambulance. The deceased youth did not regain, consciousness.
