Heavy lighting is reported to be in progress amid a i snowstorm. . r <J . - , It is understood a thousand Germans arc holding the bridges and tunnels of the iron ore railway from iNarvik to Sweden.' . Swedish sources report, preliminary air activity at Narvik, suggesting that the Germans will make 1 a strung hid by air to relieve the pressure on the land fortes. „ The Germans in Southern and Central Norway are actively consolidating their positions, although it appears that isolated Norwegian detachments, using guerrilla tactics, are still resisting in the mountainous regions. The Official German News Agency says the Hegro fortress (soutli of Trond(icim), with fifteen officers and IGU men, has surrendered alter a three weeks’ siege. The German: Occupation of Itoros (south-east of Trondheim) is also announced to-niglit. Tlic British United Press correspondent in Boros says the Norwegians evacuated before the arrival of the Germans. . ;/ The Norwegians are endeavouring to break uirough the German cordon to join tin; Allies in Northern Norway. The Official Germany News Agency states the Allied detachments who failed to rc-embark are withdrawing hurriedly across the mountain roads fronr Namsos.
