The annual report stated that the year commenced very well, the increased riflemen showing a greater advance on the previous season. “The war has greatly interfered with the normal routine of the movement. By asking riflemen to supply their own ammunition wo were able to hold our annual championship meeting, which was a success. A credit balance of over £6 was received, from the meeting and the association is indebted to Mr F. J. Soler for a donation of £2 7s 6d towards the funds. The executive have sought the feelings of the clubs on their support if the Manawatu championship was held in June this year instead of October. It was thought that, owing to the reduced ammunition allocation, interest might bo out of shooting by October. 'The 14 clubs have confirmed this, and they suggest that our shoot be brought forward to June. The year commenced with a credit balance of £2 3s 2d, and has closed with a balance and assets of over £B.”
