PAHIATUA.
PERSONAL. Mrs A. L. Moore, -of Pabiatua, is a visitor t,o Wellington. Mrs J. A. Walsh is visiting Auckland. Miss E. J. Carnell, liaison officer between the Library Association and the Country Library Service, is visiting Pabiatua. Mrs li. Paterson, is visiting Dunedin to attend the capping ceremony at the Otago University, where her daughter Has been studying. Miss R. Groves, of Alakomako, has been visiting Wellington. Messrs F. and 11. Ebbott and J. Sargent, of Makomako, have returned from a fishing trip to Lake Taupo. Messrs G. and C. Eddie, of Makomako, have left for Lake Taupo. Mrs J. Gregory, of Makomako, has her mother from Island Bay staying with her. GOLF CLUBS OPEN. In declaring the Hamm Golf Club’s season open at the week-end. the president (Mr J. B. Carruthcrs) expressed the hope that the season would bo a success'll" one for the club. A .mixed foursomes competition was won by Air R. P. Lr> vison and Mrs A. J. Morgan. There was a large number of visitors and members at the official opening of tile Makomako Golf Club. Air F. Ebbctt (patron) welcomed the .visitors and (hanked them for their attendance. A flag competition was won by Airs F. Horne in the ladies’ section, and Alt W. Darley in the men’s section.
