LARGE SUM COLLECTED.

At a meeting of the Women's Patriotic Committee, last evening, the treasurer (Miss D. Haggitt) reported that since the shop was opened in the first week in April £94 7s Gd had been raised. This was considered most satisfactory, and gratification was expressed at the evidence of public -support and generous contributions. Mrs E. C. Barnett presided over an enthusiastic attendance, and the Mayoress (Mrs A. E. Mansford) was present. The rota of helpers for the following nine weeks was arranged. Central School Ladies’ Committte and Takaro Ladies’ Guild being in charge tin's week; next week members of the Baptist and Congregational Ladies’ Guilds will take over.
