EGYPT ON ALERT
MEDITERRANEAN CRISIS. BEADY FOR EMERGENCY. . (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. 1 CAIRO, May 2. As a result of the Mediterranean tension Egypt has taken. further procautions, including the cancellation of Army and police leave. Forces are guarding strategic centres. The imposition of the death penalty is being decreed for sabotage and espionage. The Premier declared that Egypt was ready for any emergency. Although the international situation remained serious, there was no immediate cause for alarm.
