COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL.

The annual festival week of the Manawatu Competitions Society, which opens at the Opera House anil the Umpire Hall on Monday next, is an attraction of paramount interest for many hundreds of people both young and old, who practise or enjoy the arts of music, singing, elocution and dancing. ■ With a programme of 1500 entries contributed by 400 competitors drawn from both islands, the stages in the Opera House, the Little Theatre, and Empire Hall, will be occupied almost continuously for the week. Patrons are assured of entertainment of quality and variety.
