It .introduces to the screen that grand Scottish actor, Will Fyfifc, in his first dramatic and starring role. Ho is seen as the surly farmer, Adam MeAdam, ha-ted and feared by neighbouring shepherds .in the rugged Cumberland district—bis only friend a savage Alsatian. Tho only object of his affections,' other than, his dog, is his daughter, portrayed by Margaret Lockwood, “Owd Bob” being the first film in which this rising young star has appeared under her new long-term contract with* Gainsborough. REGENT THEATRE, ~ “BEAU GESTE.” . Co-starring Gary Cooper, Ray Milland and Robert Preston as tho brothers “Gesto,” Paramount’s new, adventure-! crammed, excitement-filled production of. “Beau Gosto” will screen to-day at the Regent Theatre. Based on the groat novel by P. C. Wren, the picture tells tho roaring, lusty story of three gallant brothers who endure dangers and hardship in, tho French Foreign Legion because their loyalty to each other will not permit the finger of suspicion to point to any one of <hem as guilty -of the theft of a valuable sapphire, stolen from their guardian. Brian Donlevy, Susan Hayward, J. Carrol Naisli, Donald O’Connor, and, James Stop-] henson are prominent in the supportingcast. Many other well known players will he seen in important roles and thousands of extra players will be seen in tho thrilling- sequences in which • a wild desert tribe attacks a Foreign Legion outpost,.
