MISUSE ALLEGED. Received Mav 3. 11.10 n.m. LONDON. May 2. A report of a comihittce of the Convocation of Canterbury seriously criticises the “current misuse” of the Sacrament of llolv Baptism and the laxitv in administration. It recommends a shortened, simplified service for +hc public baptism, of infants. “The effect of the misuse is that the majority of parent® bring their children to the font, with litUe understanding of- the significance of the act. and often from most inadequate motives,” says the report.
