SEQUEL TO NAZI ATTACKS. Ilecieved May 3, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, May 2. An official announcement say s: “The convoy sloop H.M.S. Bittern caugr.c fire after repeated attacks by German bombers, one of which was shot down in flames, and others were severely handled. •‘Our own forces finally sank the Bittern to avoid danger to navigation. The crew went aboard another warship. No casualties are reported.”
