He said there was quite a strong possibility of amalgamation coming about. Ways and means would have to he discussed later. The question of the Feilding Association retaining its individualityhad been mentioned, and it had been pointed out that there would be only one executive under amalgamation. However ways and means would have to be discussed after it >vas known whether Feilding would accept amalgamation. If accepted, it would be for the period of the war. The entry of the Ohakea Air Force team in the Manawatu competitions, which was also discussed at heildino-, was a more difficult matter, said the chairman. With the possibility of amalgamation Ohakea would naturally come'into the Manawatu competitions. However, the decision of the Fe.lding Association would- have to be awaited, but in his opinion Feilding would try to retain Ohakea as long as possible. . Messrs W. H. ilson, Martin, Aitehison and Brace were appointed a committee to draw up a scheme in favour of amalgamation between the Feilding and Manawatu Associations, in the "event of Feilding being in favour. Mr R. Hall was appointed sole representative selector for the season and also coach of the representative teams. WOMEN’S COMPETITION. MAY JOIN WITH FEILDING. Members of the exccutive_ of the Manawatu Association on Wednesday met representatives of the Women s Hockey Association in order to discuss women’s hockey in the district this season. Mr L. Martin, chairman of the Manawatu Association, presided. ~ It was said that three teams would be available for competition, Bioadway, High School and United. The chairman referred to the possibility of the amalgamation of Ma'navvatu with Feilding, which also had three women’s teams. This, he said, would make for better competition and would also probably be for the good of the game in the district. Women players would probably have to face the question of a workable scheme under amalgamation. The representatives of the women s association agreed that they would be willing to bo included in an. amalgamation scheme with Feilding, and agreed to continue to operate under the direction of the men’s association. Mr V. Turner was nominated as women’s delegate to the association. Women’s representatives present were Misses M. Herrick, A. Cresswell, D. Jones, H. Fleming, 0. McKeary, M. McQueen, P. Hancox and L.
