RUGBY FOOTBALL
OROUA SUB-UNION. The annual meeting of the Oroua Rugby Football Sub-union was held at Kimbolton, when there were present Messrs N. V. Shannon, P. J. Guylee and P. Shannon (Waituna), N. Martin, N. Amadio and James Watt (Rangiwahia), C. A. Spence and D. McKenzie (Apiti), H. E. Harris and D. Davies, acting-secretary (Kimbolton). . The report, showing a credit of £4O, was adopted. The following officers were elected: Patron, Air AAatt; president, Air N. V. Shannon; vicepresidents, Alessrs N. J. Guylee, G. Cowan, 11. Fankliauscr and H. Harris; secretary-treasurer. Air S. G. Fitzpatrick; auditor, Air. F. 11. BillingVotes of thanks were passed to all who had assisted the sub-union. The president was empowered to investigate the possibility of obtaining supplies of benzine for the use of teams for travelling purposes which, according to the Minister of Supplies (Hon. D. G. Sullivan), the players have every hope of getting. Nominations of senior teams were received from Waituna, Kimbolton, Apiti and Rangiwahia. and junior teams from AVait-una, Apiti and Raugiwahia. The senior competition will start on Alav 4 and the junior on Alay 11. Air F. E. Sherwood is to ho written to asking him to accept the position of the sub-union’s representative on tho Afanawatu Rugby Union. Various committees were appointed, and Mr Roy Shannon was appointed senior selector and Air C. Spence junior selector. A small sum was granted the Primary Schools’ Association for their petty expenses. It was decided to hold a. representative match at Rangiwahia -this season, advantage being taken of an offer of a dinner from Afr F. D. Heise. The Rangitikei Union was written to in this connection. Challenges were also made to the Southern Hawke’s Bay Union for the Bebbington Shield and the Manawatu B team for the AVallace Cup. The following are the fixtures for May 4: Kimbolton v. Rangiwahia, at Rangiwahia; Waituua v. Apiti, at Apiti. TEAMS FOR TOMORROW.
