NOTES.
Tile jxissibility of converting ths piesent central • heating appliances at the Woodville School to permit the use °t oil instead of coke or coal was mentioned by Air Cotter at the meeting of householders. Reference had previously been made by Mr Anslow (caretaker) to the additional cost for Heating that would accrue in the coming year owing to the difficulty of getting coke, which made it necessary to burn coal. Air Cotter thought that . i 1 1- su 6gestion were practicable a . induction might be effected in the cost ! Of r heating the .school. -The chairman I (Mr S. Turnbull) -said the question I was one for an engineer.-. He offered a quantity of crude oil,..which lie suggested should be sprayed ■on to the coke Experiments on these lines would indicate whether or not the oil .would make the coke burn longer. No 'action was _taken in the meantime Regarding Mr Cottei/s suggestion, i The attention of farmers is directed to an advertisement in this issue advising that the annual meeting of the Woodville District Bobby Calf Pool will be held m the Borough Chambers at 8 o’clock tomorrow malit. 1 .
