MR LEE’S EXPULSION.

RE ADMISSION URGED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 28. Concern at the probable disruptive effects within the Labour Party from the expulsion of Mr J. A. Lee was expressed by a large majority of members of the Canterbury Freezing and Related Trades Union, at a general meeting. The union, which held the meeting to receive the reports of the Easter conference of the party from its delegates, carried the following motion by an overwhelming majority: “That this meeting expresses its confidence in Mr J. A. Lee, M.P., and asks that the Labour Party election platform be given effect to. It further considers that Mr be immediately readmitted to the party in the interests of unity and the formation of a united front against Labour’s political opponents.”
