WHOLEMEAL AND HONEY MUFFINS. .Sift If cups wholemeal flour, 3 teaspoons baking-powder, \ teaspoon salt together; and J cup desiccated coconut, 4or. well washed and dried currants, and 1 tablespoon finely-chopped mixed peel. Melt 1 dessertspoon butter and i cup honey together, add J cup milk and 1 lightly-beaten egg, then add to dry ingredients. Beat well for a lew minutes, place in well-greased and thoroughly boated gem irons and hake in a moderate oven for about 10 minutes Sen o hot or cold with butter or honey
To prevent the leaves of a tightlyrolled lettuce from tearing, simply hold the lettuce under running water for a few minutes. "When a pumpkin is too large for one nieal, rub bicarbonate of soda into the cut surface of the remaining portion and it will keep quite fresh for some considerable time.
