(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, April 26. Anzac Day is not losing anv of ils Dgnificance as' far as Shannon is concerned, there being again a large attendance both at the school and the parade, and later at the theatre gathering. After a short address to the school children by Mr A. R. Blackwood (a South African War veteran), a procession was formed, headed |iv tlio H Grow henna Pipo Band and in * eluding members of the the Mnyot and councillors, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Junior Red Cross members, and school pupils. The procession made an impressive scene, a halt being made at the Sunlit African War monument, where several wreaths were laid. At the Cenotaph the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts formed a guard of honour and a large number of beautiful wreaths were laid. Mr (». Keeler, of Levin, plaved the Last Post. A rtery.ee was then held in the theatre, and an msp.rms address was delivered by Lev. Mr StotfBlandv, who said that while vve were proud and grateful to remember the Anzac ol <4. years”ago, we now had to finish the work thov had commenced so well. The outlying schools had paid their quota, promptly.
