PRIZE BLOOMS
CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW. OUTSTANDING DISPLAY. Many beautiful blooms were seen at the annual Chrysanthemum Show of the Palmerston North Horticultural Society, which was opened in the Empire Hall on Saturday afternoon. In conjunction with it the show of the Palmerston North Chrysanthemum Club was held. Entries were highly satisfactory, the total being about 450, which compared very favourably with the number last year. The season has been fairly favourable, although by no means ideal, but there were some really outstanding blooms in the show, and it was considered to bo the equal of, and perhaps better than, any yet held in Palmerston North. The disbudded single flowers were an outstanding class. Awards were made as follow: OPEN CLASS. Chrysanthemums, 12 varieties. —A. Ilixon and Son 1; only entry. Six varieties: A.
