INADEQUATE BUDGET.
CONTENTIONS IN PRESS. LONDON, April ,25. The Times, in a leading article, says: "One of the criticisms of the Budget is its inadequacy. If the effort be worthy of our cause, the output of aeroplanes, guns, munitions and other equipment must bo brought much closer to the German level. "Work must he found for the efficient unemployed, who are a standing reproach to our capacity for economic organisation. Work must also be found for the potential workers, and full time employment must be given to those' engaged in trades now working short time. The Chancellor explained that the expenditure figures are provisional, but even so they cannot be regarded as adequate."
