NEW BATTLESHIP READY. PARTS, April 26. Jt is officially stated that the 35,000ton battleship Richelieu is ready for service, and three _ other battleships are iinder construction, also four destroyers, 25 submarine-chasers, four mine-layers, 26 torpedo launches, and 21 submarines. arc the Jean Bart, Clemenceau, and Gascognc. The first will be ready for service shortly. The Clemenceau was laid clown in January, 1939, and the Gascognc, though no official date had been given up to last week, was believed to have been begun within the past few weeks. These 35,000ton battleships are by far the biggest ever built in France.
