TREMENDOUS COST.
AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS. (British Official "Wireless.; Received April 27, 12.52 p.m. RUGBY, April 2G. Air raid precautions will cost the local authorities in the metropolitan area more in the coming year. Just over £7.500,000 has been spent by them in,the year ended March, while the estimate ior the coming year is eight millions. Fire .services alone cost the London County Council £1,147,120, which sum is expected to exceed a million and three-quarters in the current year.
