AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.

The Associated Auctioneers report: Yard in in both sheep and cattle were smaller than of late. In the store sheep section the offering comprised 3600 mainly breeding ewes and blackface lambs, with an odd pen of wethers. The breeding ewes were of better quality and condition than recent offerings, and comprised mainly four and five-year-old ewes with two or three pens of two-tooth ewes all running with Southdown rams. Much interest was taken in the reliable lines, and good competition was forthcoming, with prices fully linn on late rates. Specially advertised linos on account of Mr R. MacDonald came forward in excellent order, and the four and five-year-old ewes made 20s 4d to 24s 2d, two-tooth ewes, 29s 4d.and mixed age 255. An entry of 700 good-conditioned woolly black-face lambs from the Mangawcka district also sold well, realising up to 18s 4d. The fat sheep yarding totalled 600, mostly ewes, and a good sale resulted with ewes and wethers slightly hardening and lambs selling at late rates. A small offering of cattle came to hand, only four or five small pens of run cattle, and these changed hands at recent values. The fat cattle section was a small one of 86, mostly station sorts. There was no appreciable change in values on late sales, arid the yarding was mostly light-weight cattle. A small offering of 54 dairy cattle found the autumn calvers in good demand and good quality cattle made good values. A few pens of potter cows' found values unchanged.
