(From Our Own Correspondent.’) FOXTON, April 22. Sister M. Little, district nurse, who has been absent on annual leave, has resumed her duties. Sister Ennis, who has been acting in a relieving capacity, has returned to Palmerston North. Mr E. 1,. Sara, of Recfton, 4s relieving on the staff of the Post Office. Mr and Mrs T. Y. Crottv left to-day on a motor tour of the Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts. Mr and Mrs L. C. Bryant have returned home after an enjoyable motor holiday in the north. Mr and Mrs 1.. Bullard are visitors to Fox-ton from Kuatoria, where Mr Bullard is postmaster. They arc the guests of Mr and Mrs J. G. Honorc. In a senior football match played on Easton Park on Saturday afternoon Foxton beat Athletic by 14 (joints to 6. FoxtonMoutoa juniors won by default- from Shannon. A meeting of the Foxton Dental Clinic Committee was presided over by Mr M. B. Bergin. The resignation of Mrs T. Kane, who has left the district, was received with regret. Appreciation of her services to the clinic was placed on record The, purchasing of furnishings was left to Mrs Barron, Dr Crawford, and the secretary, in conjunction with Nurse Urquhart who received a welcome from the committee. The charge will be 5s per child with a maximum of 10s for each family. Mr Francis agreed to approach the Palmerston North Clinic with a view to ascertaining the position of the Oroua Downs children who will receive attention at the local clinic. The secretary reported that, after allowing for payment of its proportion of the cost of the clinic building, tlio committee ’ad in hand tlie sum of £42 19s. Three rinks from the Foxton Bowling Club attended the official closing of the Shannon Bowling Club on Saturday. The secretary has received an invitation from the Otaki Bowling Club to attend its closing on Saturday. FOXTON, April 23. There was a record attendance of 115 at the householders’ meeting. The candidates numbered seventeen. Air R. O. lfornblow was voted to the chair. The report submitted by the retiring committee covering their activities was lengthy and informative. The balance-sheet showed the funds in a good position. The election resulted in three new members being elected and the return of six sitting members. The new committee is as follows: Messrs 1L 0. Hornblow, H. A. Hannay, \V. D Neville, M. E. Perrcau, A. Y. Taylor, D. D. McKenzie, H. H. Pudmorc, E. A. Corlett, and E. ’Titcoinbc At a subsequent meeting Mr Hannay was elected chairman and-Mr Corlett secretaiy.
