GOLD RESERVES.

INTERNATIONAL SURVEY. GENEVA, April 23. League bulletin statistics show that the Turkish gold reserves, which have hovered round £7.000,000 since 1936. leaped to £32.500.000 in February and rose nearly £1.000.000 more in March. Turkish circles ascribe the rise mainly to Allied loans. The United States lias added £4-10,000.000 to her Reserves, or 11 per cent., since the outbreak of war to the end of March. Other increases are: South Africa 24 per cent., Yugoslavia 6 per cent.., and Rumania 2 per cent. Sweden lost £45,000,000 or half her reserves, Switzerland and Norway lost 12 per cent, each, and Holland 10 per cent.
