(From Our Own Correspondent.) BEACONSFIELD, April 23. On Saturday the golfers played a competition in aid of the Patriotic Fund and F. L. Arrow won the trophy presented by Mr T. Wilson. G. Curtis was challenged for llic Strickland Button by T. AVilson, but Curtis won. The following is the draw for next Saturday, when a medal Bonnet Cup competition will be played : N. Short and G. Coggin, J. Strickland and J. Old, F. Arrow and M McLean, E. Buchanan and J. Wither, D. Old and T. AVilson, C. Curtis and j. Woollams, F. Ackerman and K. Bunn, C. Corpe and R. Jaggard, C. Truman and Stubbs, D. Blue and partner. Miss Ngarc Old handed in the best, card of the ladies on Saturday and now holds the Strickland Button. The following is the draw for a flag match to be played next Saturday Miss AAb'llianwon and Airs Corpe, Airs J. Old and Airs Short, Alisa Clare and Airs Stephens, Alias N. Old and Airs Usmar, Airs T. Old and Aliss Wither, Airs Wither and Mrs Blue, Mrs Shannon and Airs AlcOombie, Aliss Stratford and Aliss D. Shannon, Airs I). Old and Aliss Coggin. Airs F. R. Usman has returned fo her homo after spending a few days with her parents, Mr and Airs F. Shnckleton, “Alerivale,” Ilunterville. Air and Airs E. F. Thomas, junr.. motored to Wellington last week. They were accompanied by Mrs D. C. Old. Among others visiting AVellington are Afr and Mrs C. E. Corpe, Mr and Mrs S. E. Small and Aliss T). Small, Mr S. Coleman, Air and Airs F. R. Usmar, and Air and Airs O. Truman. Air and Airs R. E. Stuart and Air and Airs 11. Buchanan arc spending a holiday at Foxton Beach. The Country Cribbago Association games will commence next Alonday. The following players will represent Bcaconsfield against Cheltenham at Bcaconsfield;—D. Rutherford, W. Shanks, C. Pollard, D. Old, J. Campbell, G. Truman, W. Truman, S. Small, L. Small. G. Gledhill.' There was a disappointing attendance at the householders’ meeting on Alonday night. The following members were elected to the School Committee:—Alcssrs 1 ). Old, C. Fames, N. Short, S. Small and R. Bowater. Air Old was re-elected chairman and Air Short was elected secretary. Afr Old expressed, on- behalf of the members of (ho retiring committee the appreciation of the services of Air O. AI. Richardson, who had been secretary for many years. Owing to ill-health it was decided to grant Mr Richardson “two years’ leave of absence.” lie would be greatly missed and all wished him a speedy recovery.
